Team Alabama had their poorest showing in the short four-year history of the Southeastern Underclassmen Shootout. Although loaded with college bound talent, they couldn’t recover from losing to eventual Shootout Gold Cup Champion Team Louisiana 6 – 5 in their first game. Team Alabama had a 5 – 2 lead entering the 7th inning and made a couple routine errors in the infield to open the door for Team Louisiana. Team Alabama beat eventual Shootout runner-up Team Mississippi 5 – 1 in their second game. Then got thumped by Team Tennessee 9 – 3 in their final pool play contest. In the consolation game Team Kentucky took Team Alabama to the wood shed, with very little college bound talent, spanking them 12 – 6.

Team Alabama won the Shootout Championship Team Gold Cup/Individual Gold Medals last year (2018), finished runner-up the year before (2017), earning Silver Medals and lost in the Bronze Medal game in 2016.
